Newmarket is a historic market town located in Suffolk, famously known as the home of horse racing and a significant hub for the thoroughbred horse racing industry. The town’s proximity to London helped it grow as a popular destination for royalty and aristocrats, who came to enjoy the races. By the 18th century, Newmarket had cemented its status as the epicenter of British horse racing, with Royal patronage adding to its prestige.

Great Dunmow is a historic market town located in Essex, with a rich history that dates back to the Middle Ages. Great Dunmow is most famously known for the Dunmow Flitch Trials, a quirky and unique tradition that dates back to at least the 15th century. The trials are a contest in which married couples compete to win a flitch of bacon (a side of cured bacon) by swearing an oath that they have lived together in harmony and without dispute for a full year and a day.
